The Remains of the (Turkey) Day

Sorry I have not been posting for a while, I haven't had too much to write about. But that could be a good thing I suppose. But I thought I would share pics of random things from my Thanksgiving weekend so far. The top is a car I happened upon coming out of Target on Wednesday night. Someone filled a car with balloons, plastic wrapped it, and wrote "Happy Birthday" all over it. I thought it was very clever and got a good chuckle out of it. I can imagine some poor Target employee coming out of a long pre-black Friday shift finding his or her car all wrapped up. He he.

The second pic is from my family's Thanksgiving Day at my parents' house. My brother the Appalachian Monkey wanted the turkey leg so we made sure he ate it barbaric style. UGH ME WANT TURKEY AND BRUSSEL SPROUT SODA. Yes, I said brussel sprout soda. Curious? Just plain crazy? Check out Jones Cola's Holiday soda package (http://www.jonessoda.com/files_new/turkey05.html).

Hope all of you had a good weekend so far and a good Saturday and Sunday. Won't mention Monday yet ;)

The cheese stands alone.

Cold medicine and spilled lasagne!

So that describes my weekend in a funny sort of way! I should have had the best weekend in the world these last few days, but unfortunately a nasty cold from hell kept me from enjoying it as much as I could have. But it still was quite fun. I had three days off, and got to see my best friend from college, Shelby. She lives in Southern CA, and I haven't seen her in six months. Despite her flight being delayed Thurs. night ( oh how we love Southwest! ), the weekend started off well. I got to go to lunch with her and a friend on Fri., and on Sat. my brother's girlfriend, Bernice, and my family and I had a surprise 25th b-day for my brother (see his link on the sidebar). It was fun but sooo much work keeping it from him. We were very relieved when he walked in and had an absolute look of shock on his face! Especially since the lasagne had spilled so shortly before. Yep, a whole tray of lasagne all over the oven, the floor, the wall, and my mom. Ten minutes before people arrived I was scooting across my parents' kitchen floor with damp towels on my feet doing damage control... of course sneezing the whole time because of my darned cold. I think I still have some sauce in my shoe... Needless to say that as soon as my brother arrived, we all grabbed a glass of wine in relief :) Hey, if nothing goes wrong, it is not a party at our house!

So the rest of the weekend was fun with karaoke at Bogey's and in Livermore, and seeing Shelby when I wasn't sleeping off my cold :-P So I hope you all had a great weekend and an ok Monday! (Can Mondays ever be more than ok? hehe)

Halloween!

So here's two pictures of me in different Halloween costumes this year. In the first pic you will see me and Mike at the Bogey's Halloween party last Saturday... He was a pregnant nun and I was a sexy nurse. You can't see it in the pic, but the skirt was very short... yikes! And on Monday, for actual Halloween, I wore a cat outfit all day. Much more work and kid friendly. I handed out candy with my parents and then spent some time with my good friend Katy handing out candy in her family's haunted garage. That is where the second pic is taken, with one of her props behind me ( no, it is not a new boyfriend :-P ) Hope all of you have had great Halloweens! I have been busy lately doing lights for "Peter's Friends" at the Empire Theatre in Stockton. If you have the chance, come see it! :)
